The Bishop is our CSL

Imagine our Chief Servant-Leader (CSL) working for our congregations, preaching the Word, teaching the Gospel, praying with God’s people, casting a compelling vision for our churches working together and implementing a strategy for growth. A plan where we all do our part to help the growing reign of God grow. A plan that ignites our discipleship fervor. Unleashes our evangelical energy. Lifts up holy hands and gives thanks for the diversity in our unity.

Wouldn’t it be great to celebrate from year to year how we are changing the narrative from dying denomination to a Church on fire? To change the narrative will require leadership that values diverse opinions, cultivates a culture of trust, encourages, thinks long term, focuses on the other, and acts in humility.  With our Bishop operating as our CSL, we can light this evangelical fire!

“The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those in authority over them are called benefactors. But not so with you. Rather, let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves.” Luke 22:25–26
